Easter and the Zoo

We had an awesome Easter and we hope everyone else did too! Last Monday March 30th Dev had the day off so we decided to take the kids to Hogle Zoo. The weather was supposed to be nice and warm and it was warmer that usual but it was pretty windy :( . But we still had a lot of fun. Two of Peyton's absolute favorite people came with us, Hollee and Bryan of course! Peyton is more interested in the animals every time we go, but she has the shortest attention span so she is running from animal to animal to see what is going on. Korbin is just happy to be along for the ride. We spent a lot of time looking at the baby elephant Zuri. She is the cutest thing I have ever seen, I could seriously watch her all day! Peyton's favorite part was probably when we took her to playground, she went down the slide over and over again. We got a zoo pass last year for Peyton's birthday and we haven't used it a lot since we bought it but now that the weather is getting warmer, (except for last night and today with all of this snow :( ), we can hopefully go a whole bunch!

Isn't she so cute!!

Going down the slide for probably the 100th time.
For Easter weekend we didn't do a whole bunch. Dev had to work on Saturday so I took the kids over to my sister and brother in laws house to color eggs and have an egg hunt. Peyton loves Thom, Darcy, Haley and Adam and she is always asking to go over to their house so she was really excited! Korbin and Adam are only 7 weeks apart so they like to roll around with each other and grab hands. Once Dev got home we went over to our friends Andrew and Amber's house for a BBQ. They have a little girl who is only 6 months older than Peyton and a little boy who is only 6 weeks older than Korbin so it's a lot of fun getting together because our kids are the same age. On Easter Sunday Peyton woke up and came upstairs and found her stuff from the Easter Bunny. She got a ton of books this year! My mom is a school teacher so she always brings home tons of book orders so between what Dev and I bought her and my parents she added quite a bit to her little library. Her favorite book's right now are the "How does a dinosaur..." series by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague. So she got a whole bunch of those, and a bunch of animal books. We went over to Hollee and Bryan's for dinner and Hollee made her very first turkey! It was delicious! We dyed some more eggs and Peyton went out in the backyard and found them all. It was a nice relaxing weekend and we are looking forward to next weekend when we are going up to Logan for Baby Animal Days!

Peyton gathering her eggs. She would pick them up and then throw them into her basket as hard as she could so they were all pretty much broken.
