Air Show, Tinkerbell is in Trouble and Big Changes

This past weekend we headed up to my parents house to watch the air show. My parents live in the neighborhood that is right next to the runway so we could see everything from their front yard. I didn't really want to fight the crowds on base so we decided it would be better to watch it from there. We got up really early so that we could get there before the traffic got too bad. Both of my sisters and their husbands came over and we just hung out all day long eating junk food and getting sunburned. Peyton had a lot of fun watching the planes and playing in the front yard, she especially liked drawing on her uncle Thom with the sidewalk chalk. After the air show got over we packed up the car and headed home and spent the rest of the weekend relaxing.

I tried to get some better pictures, the jets were flying right over the house but my camera would not take the picture fast enough.

Yesterday, Peyton was just playing around the house and sometimes when she starts to act up I tell her that if she doesn't stop she will have to go in the corner. Well Deven was walking back to our bedroom and he tells me to hurry and come look at something Peyton had done. I am thinking the worst because Peyton loves to make huge messes, but I pleasantly surprised at what I saw.

Apparently Tinkerbell had done something wrong and it landed her in the corner. Peyton was very pleased with herself for doing such a good job at disciplining her doll.

The big news of this week is that Deven and I both got laid off from our jobs on Monday! We knew it was coming so we were not too surprised, but it is still a hard stressful thing to go through. We are lucky to have great family and friends to help us get through everything and we are much better off than a lot of people that go through losing their jobs. Deven is filling out job applications like crazy and has a couple of things going on that are looking pretty promising. We are just sitting tight and hoping that he finds something soon. I am trying to get all of my Medical Transcription school stuff done as fast as I can so that I can get looking for a job doing that soon. I am about halfway finished so hopefully I can find a job that will allow me to work from home, since having to pay for day care for 2 kids will be super expensive. So keep your fingers crossed for us!

We are looking forward to the rest of the summer, I am especially looking forward to the 4th of July! It is one of my favorite holidays and I am anxious to see how Peyton reacts to the fireworks this year, since last year she was too tired to stay up and watch! My niece's 5th birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks so we are excited for that, and my uncle Jon, who I have not seen in years, is flying out from Illinois in the middle of July so it will be way fun to see him again. Peyton is getting sick of being cooped up in the house because of all the rain and thunderstorms so hopefully we will get a break soon so I can take her back to the pool. I am already dreading being pregnant for the rest of the summer I wish that I was farther along than I am but oh well. This baby boy is kicking my butt already and I am terrified that since he is already measuring big that he is going to be huge by the time I am ready to deliver him!

I'm sorry to hear about both your jobs but I'm glad you have such high spirits about the whole thing. It can be so stressful. Grant works construction so there are times when he works all the time and other times when he doesn't work at all for weeks. Good luck with finishing the medical transcription stuff. I know what you mean about paying daycare...it's ridiculous and that's why I work nights! Maybe one of these times we could meet up that the pool and we can catch up!

I laughed so hard when I saw Tinkerbell in the corner, I always knew she was up to trouble looks like Peyton figured it out first! It's so funny how darn smart kids are! Sorry to hear about your jobs, yikes that can be stressful. Best of luck to both of you
