New Carpet...Finally!!!

Not much has been going on the past week, Dev and I have both been super busy with work but it is something that we are grateful for considering how many people out there do not have jobs. So we are very happy that we both have good jobs, especially with my job being so flexible that I can work from home and be with Peyton all day long! We have really been enjoying the nice weather that we had this past week, we went on walks every day and tried to teach Peyton how to ride her tricycle. She likes it better when we just push her on it, why peddle yourself when mom and dad will do all the work for you. She loves to be outside, every time we go on a walk she stops every 2 seconds to look at what is on the ground, she is constantly asking us "What's this?". She is learning new things everyday and she has been so much fun to watch. We are teaching her the ABC'S right now and so far she is doing pretty good. She likes to repeat everything that people say, so we are having to be extra careful with what we say around her because we never know what she will pick up on. Peyton has also become very helpful around the house. She loves to help take the dishes out of the dishwasher, and help me fold the laundry, and she is getting better at picking up her toys. She also loves to make sure that the toilet seat lids are down, which is great except since I have been so sick she tends to slam the lid down on my head when I am throwing up which is not so pleasant. But she is just trying to help. She loves to play with toy babies, so for Easter we are most likely going to be getting her a baby and a baby stroller and things to play with. Hopefully it will help her get somewhat ready for the real baby that will be joining her later on this year.

The biggest thing that has gone on for us recently is we finally got our new carpet!! When we first moved into our house in Dec. of 2006, we had a lovely little Rottweiler named Harley. He wasn't so little, he was 6 months old and he was a very active puppy. One day when Dev and I got home from work, we walked into our house and Harley had decided to rip up a huge chunk of carpet right just on the other side of the tile entry way. It was horrible, we ended up giving Harley away because he was just to big of a dog to have cooped up in our condo. But we have lived with our carpet ripped and dirty ever since then and this weekend we got it fixed!! It looks so much better, we only replaced the carpet in the hallway and the living room/dining room. We tried to get the color to match the carpet that we have in the 3 bedrooms and we got really close but it's not a perfect match. So in the next few months we are going to replace the carpet in the bedrooms as well. The house feels so much better and roomier with new carpet I love it. I am starting a new rule of no shoes in the house because and we are going to be feeding Peyton in the kitchen more often because I don't want it to get messy. Peyton is still in the habit of throwing any food that she doesn't want to eat to Gus. We don't have much planned for the next few weeks, I am going to be doing some major spring cleaning and working on getting things de cluttered. Over the Easter weekend we are going to be taking Peyton up to Cache Valley for baby animal days, and to do some Easter egg hunts up there. Hopefully the spring weather decides to come back soon so Peyton can spend some more time outside.

We had to rip out the old carpet and pad the night before, I couldn't believe how much dirt and dust was underneath it. You can see all the dirt floating around in the picture.

It was about 10 at night when we ripped all the old stuff out and Peyton slept through all the noise we were making.

Gus was trying to figure out what was going on.

Peyton enjoying the finished product. We had to move all of the furniture into her playroom, and the couches were standing on end in the kitchen so it was nice when it was all finished and we could move everything back.

So my super cute friend Megan, nominated me for a blogger award! Thanks Megan! It has been so much fun seeing her family grow this past year, and to look at pictures of her new baby boy Hayden! He is so adorable and she is such an awesome mommy and every time you read her blog you can see how much she loves her son and husband. She has also been such a great example to me about staying positive about every obstacle that may come her way!

Here is how it works!
