Thanksgiving Weekend, Deven's Birthday, and 15 Month Checkup

This weekend was crazy but it was a ton of fun. I have been so excited for Thanksgiving because I love eating, so a holiday completely based around eating is freakin awesome!! We had dinner this year at my parents house. The only bad thing about Thanksgiving is that you have to smell the turkey cooking all day long and it's torture! Deven got up early and took my mom and brother in law Thom out skeet shooting. My parents put their Christmas tree up the day before and Peyton had a lot of fun putting up the ornaments and then taking them back down again. Unless we have the baby gate put up blocking her way into the front room where the tree was she was in there all the time stealing ornaments and candy canes. Peyton decided that right around the time we sat down to eat dinner she wanted to take a nap so she was pretty grouchy but she seemed to enjoy all the food that we gave her. She has discovered that her nose has 2 holes in it that fit she can fit her fingers into so most of the time we were eating we were pulling her fingers out of her nose. But the food was great and and other then Peyton being grouchy it went well.
I looked through all the Black Friday ads and didn't see anything that I really wanted go out and get. But Old Navy had a pretty good sale going so my sister Darcy and I decided that we would get up early and see if we could get some clothes. I wasn't expecting to see a lot of people with the economy being so bad so I was pretty surprised to see a line outside of Old Navy and really long lines out in front of Toys R' Us and Target. Office Depot even had a line outside of their doors. Hollee and Bryan came with us too so we stood outside in the rain and waited for until 5 am when they opened the doors. I originally went to look for clothes for me since I don't have a good winter wardrobe but I didn't find all that much. I got some shirts and got Dev a pair of jeans, Peyton got a ton of stuff though. She got a few new sweaters and shirts, a couple pair of jeans and a cute little sweat suit, I could shop for clothes for her everyday and never get sick of it! We were in and out in an hour and I was back in bed by 6:10, so it was a pretty successful trip. Dev got up early that morning to head up to Idaho to go hunting with his Dad and a bunch of other guys and he was gone until Saturday evening. He got a pheasant and on Friday but was not very successful Saturday morning when he went goose hunting, but he is going up again a few more times this year so maybe he will have better luck next time. Saturday was Dev's 25th birthday and that night we went to Maddox with some of his family. It was a lot of fun to get together with everyone and Peyton loves going to restaurants because she gets to see a bunch of people and she loves talking to everyone she sees. She ate everything in sight and talked to everyone so she was a lot of fun to watch.
Today was Peyton's 15 month check up. I am really anxious get her in a forward facing car seat so I was hoping that the Dr. would tell me that she weighs 20 pounds, she was 17 pounds at her 12 month checkup. So we got all checked in and stripped her down and stuck her on the scale and she is at 19 pounds! So stinking close!! Oh well we can flip her around soon I was just hoping we would get the go ahead today. So she is now 19 lbs. which puts her in the 8th percentile which is up from the 4th from last time, she is 31 inches long which is the 79th percentile, and her head is 47 cm around which is in the 88th percentile. So she is tall, skinny, and has a big head but her head size is going down which is nice. She did really good at her appointment, she held still while her Dr. gave her her exam and talked to him and was all smiles. He told me that she has excellent social skills and is developing perfectly which is always nice to hear. Then the not so fun part came, the nurse came back in to give Peyton her shots which is always hard to watch. She was just talking away and when she got the first shot her face got really red and she started screaming! She got 4 shots today, and once they were all done and I sat her back up she pointed her finger at the nurse and shouted "NO NO NO!" It was really funny and once she yelled at the nurse she was fine and was back to talking and laughing. This weekend we are going to go by her a new car seat so she won't be so scrunched up in her old one. Hopefully she won't get sick from her second dose of the flu shot she got today, so far she seems just fine. We are looking forward to Christmas, I still have some Christmas shopping to do and lots of baking!

Here I am making the mashed potatoes.

The beautiful turkey my mom made.
