My house is still standing and there has been no smoke damage, my turkey cooking was successful!! I am far away from being an expert and there were frequent trips to my computer to look up things on the internet and lots of phone calls to my mom, but it turned out. It was actually really good so I was pretty excited, my kitchen looked like a bomb went off in it and cleaning up the mess sucked big time. I definitely have a huge appreciation for what my mom has gone through every Thanksgiving making all that food. I didn't make everything that she usually makes and I was running around like crazy trying to get it all done. I made turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, and gravy out of a package. I was going to try and attempt to make homemade gravy but I chickened out and went with the just add water stuff instead. So all in all it was a pretty good weekend. We ate turkey and watched the BYU vs. University of Utah game which was a big disappointment. We had fun watching it because Peyton got pretty into it, granted she had no idea what was going on. She was screaming at the TV whenever we would scream at the TV, and clap whenever we clapped. We taught her to throw her hands up in the air whenever we said touchdown which sadly we did not get to say very often for BYU. But oh well this years game is over and hopefully Max Hall will learn from his HUGE mistakes and play better next year! Now we are getting ready for Thanksgiving, it is going to be a busy week but we are excited. Dev's birthday is on Saturday and he going to go hunting Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning so he is super excited. Peyton and I will probably be doing some shopping and seeing if we can find Christmas presents for the last remaining people on our list.
There it is, I had to make Dev stop cutting into it so I could get a picture.
Here is the carcass, we had lots of leftovers which is awesome, turkey leftovers are the best!

That is awesome you made a turkey, I am scared to do that. So is she in a like an infant carseat? If so wow, that is awesome that she doesn't get mad in it. It is so nice to have him in the big one.
You are one amazing woman. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to turkey...my mom got ours out today and was talking to me about it and I was all, "you have to do what, where? How?" Maybe next year I'll be brave and learn. Your turkey looked very delicious. And the BYU game was very tragic, my husband was anything but pleased. But there is always next year right?
Congrats on the turkey! In true tradition, you must now take that lovely carcass, wrap the bones in aluminum foil, and hang them on your Christmas tree.
Trust me, this will definitely help your house sell faster. I mean, Katy's soon-to-be house sold with a bong on the wall.
Bravo! I'm lucky if I can pour cereal successfully...
