The Sorensen's: Camping...

This past weekend we went camping with our friends up to Pineview. This was the first time that we have taken the kids camping and the first time I had gone camping since high school! I was really nervous about how the kids would handle everything but they did great! We went with our friends Andrew and Amber and their 2 kids. Dev has known Andrew since high school and he was the best man at their wedding. They have a little girl, Addison who is 6 months older than Peyton and a little boy, Austen who is 6 weeks older than Korbin so its perfect! Peyton absolutely adores Addison so she was so excited to go camping and spend the weekend with her. Andrew and Amber brought their camper and their 2 wave runners, and we were in a tent in the same campsite. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold and the girls ran around and picked up pine cones and flowers, and became friends with a little girl a few campsites over. We went down to the lake both days we were there and Peyton loved it! She loved playing on the beach and splashing through the water. Dev and I both tried to take her out on the wave runners a couple of times but she wanted nothing to do with it. I don't know if she was scared or if she just wanted to do her own thing and play on the beach, we'll have to try again some other time and see if she'll like it. Korbin was just happy to be there, he is not old enough yet to really understand when we go different places, as long as he is full, has toys or someone to play with he is good to go. The night in the tent go a little interesting, Korbin was out all night long so he did great. Peyton slept for maybe an hour and then she woke up got scared and slept with me and Dev the rest of the night, and our air mattress had a hole in it so we all pretty much slept on the ground, except for Korbin who was in his pack'n'play. So next time we go we will need to make sure and get a different air mattress. But we had a lot of fun hanging out at the lake and around the fire and we will for sure be doing it a few more times this summer.

A few weeks ago Korbin got his first hair cut, Peyton didn't get her first hair cut until the day I had Korbin so these kids are so different! His hair has grown so fast that he is almost needs his second hair cut already! He did really well and Hollee was so great at getting it done really quickly before he started to freak out. It turned out so so cute and he looked like a completely different kid and so much older. It's crazy what a simple hair cut will do to change the way someone looks. We also had my sister Darcy and her hubby Thomas over a few weeks ago to roast marshmallows and make smores. Peyton loves playing with her cousin Haley, and Korbin and Adam are only 7 weeks apart so it is so much fun to watch them grow up together.
