New Addition

In my last post I mentioned that we had a new addition to the family. A dwarf hamster that we have named Skylash Cupcake or just Cupcake as we call her. She seems to have adjusted from her move from the pet store to our house just fine. Gus is still not quite sure what the heck she is but he does pretty well with her. Peyton would spend all day watching her, even though she sleeps most of the day Peyton finds her to be incredibly interesting. She doesn't make a lot of noise, she doesn't require a lot of attention, she is the most low maintenance pet ever. So we are loving her so far and hopefully she is happy with us, she is spoiled and gets a lot more treats than she should but I can't help it and Peyton loves to watch her eat.

This is not the greatest picture, it is hard to get a good one since she is so small and I don't want to blind her with the flash on my camera. Yes that is a toilet paper roll behind her, she uses it as her house.

We are hopefully going to be going on a trip to Vegas in a couple of weeks. Dev's sister Hollee and her hubby Bryan are going for their anniversary and they were nice enough to invite us to tag along! I wanted to go on a trip so so bad, so when they called and asked if we wanted to go I jumped right on it. We will be gone 5 days, and we are leaving Peyton behind so it will be hard to be without her but I needed to get away somewhere so this will be perfect. Peyton will be staying with my sister Darcy so Peyton will get to be with her cousin Haley the entire time so she probably won't even notice that we are gone, she didn't last summer when we were in New York for a week. So I am sure it will be harder for Dev and I to leave her than it will be for her. But I am looking forward to sitting by the pool, even though I will look like a beached whale in my maternity swimsuit, and shopping and eating, and just having fun with Dev. So thank you Bryan and Hollee hopefully you won't regret inviting us :) !

Also I went to my Dr.'s appointment today, and so far so good, the heartbeat sounded great! I took my blood test and will get the results for that in about a week, so hopefully everything comes back clear and there are not any problems. The only bad news is that I do not get my ultrasound for another 3 weeks!!! Major bummer! So after the dr.'s appointment we went over to the mall to grab something to eat and so that I could buy a swimsuit for Vegas. Well next to the Motherhood Maternity store there is a fetal photos studio, pretty convenient huh? So we decided that we would go see how much they charge to just get a quick look at the baby and try to see what is it was a boy or a girl. The price was right so we decided to go for it.

It's a BOY!!!

We are so so excited! The dr. said he was 200% sure that is was a boy and he took some pictures of the area between his legs and it is pretty obvious. Also he took a good profile body shot and none of the indicators of the problems that Elizabeth had were there. So we feel so much better, we have our official ultrasound in 3 weeks and they will measure everything and check for problems but from what we saw today the baby looks perfectly healthy. So that is the big news of the week! Now we just have to wait for forever for him to get here, but I have a lot to do in the meantime. I need to go buy baby boy clothes and get his room ready. So as much as I wish he could just be here now, we are no where near ready, but at least we can call the baby a boy and not an it!

These pics are not going to be great since they are pictures of a picture. But this is the body profile shot. The head is to the left and the legs are to the right.

Here is a face profile, it's a little hard to see but he is looking up, and his nose and mouth are right in the center.

And here are his man parts!

Yay!! I am sooooo excited. This is going to be the greatest! When are we going to hit up Park City? Haley got a mischievous grin when I told her she'd be sharing a room with Peyton in a couple of weeks. Hmmm....:) And, hopefully Skylash Cupcake doesn't bust a move like Squeakah Da Mouse did last Saturday, or it will give a whole new meaning to "Hamster Dance." Haymstuh, haymstuh, haymstuh!
