Final Resting Place

Yesterday was little Elizabeth's funeral. We chose to have her buried in the beautiful Smithfield City Cemetery up in Cache Valley. Deven's little brother Steven who died of SIDS is buried up there and he and Elizabeth are now sharing a plot. It helps to know that she is by family. Driving up the it was raining and I was worried that it would be like that all day but thankfully it stopped and it was bright and warm while we were at the cemetery. Deven's dad made her casket and it turned out beautiful, I could not believe he only made it 4 days! Deven's step dad made the vault that the casket went in and that turned out awesome too, it weighed a ton, it took about 5 people to get it into the back of Dev's truck so he could drive it up to the cemetery. The people at the funeral home wrapped her up in the blanket that Dev's mom made and put her in this tiny dress that the hospital gave us and Deven and I put a picture of us and Peyton in there with her. The funeral itself was really short, which was to be expected, my Dad gave a beautiful dedicatory prayer and we gave Peyton a handful of balloons to let loose. After that Deven and his dad lowered the casket into the ground and his step dad sealed up the vault. Everything went great and it was the closure that Dev and I were looking for. It has been a hard crazy busy week, that had us experiencing every emotion that we could think of. But we are grateful for all of the love and support that our family and friends have given us, and even though no one was able to get to know this special little girl she was very loved.

Tuesday was really nice. You guys did a great job with Elizabeths service, the casket was beautiful and your dad did a great job on the dedicatory prayer. There is no way that Elizabeth could doubt the love that you have for her. She's very lucky to have parents like you two. thanks for letting us come.
