Yesterday we went to Lagoon with some of Deven's Aunts and Uncles. Dev's mom is from a family of 6 kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and they all have lots of kids so family get together can be crazy with the amount of kids that are running around! Yesterday only 2 of his mom's brothers came and they each have 4 kids, plus Hollee and Bryan, Dev's little sister Dancee and little brother Dylan, and Dev's grandma. There were a lot of people! But it was a lot of fun and it is something that we do every year. It was Peyton's first time going and even though there was only a couple of things that she could do she seemed to enjoy herself. We have attempted putting shoes on her many times and she always rips them off or she resorts to crawling instead of walking. So yesterday we bought her a new pair of shoes and hoped that she would finally walk with shoes on. I was not about to let her walk barefoot on the dirty ground at Lagoon let alone crawl on it so it was either walk with shoes or sit in the stroller. Once we got the shoes on her and set her down on the ground she took off, problem solved! She was a little wobbly at first and she still had a hard time going down hills but she did really well. She gets distracted pretty easily while she is walking though, leaves, twigs, rocks, cracks in the sidewalk, everything grabs her attention so it is impossible to get anywhere in a hurry with her. But it was a lot of fun watching her see new things.
We have found that unless she is in her car seat or in her crib we have a problem getting her to take a nap. She doesn't get too grumpy if she doesn't take nap, so once she got a little fussy we would just let her walk around and she was fine. But she finally fell asleep in the stroller for about 20 minutes which isn't long but it was better than nothing! She got to ride the carousel with her dad, and then again with Dev's mom, and then again with Hollee. She loved it! The only other ride she could go on was the train and by the time we got on that she was tired so she was not as excited about it as we thought she would be, she just kinda sat there and stared off into space. But even though it was a long, hot day she had a lot of fun. Hopefully next year she will grow a bit more and we will be able to take her on more rides!

What a fun day! And cute pictures... I haven't been to Lagoon in ages. It looks like the big day tuckered your little kiddo right out :) She is so cute.
